Concert Diary

A group of MIA students, parents and teachers went to hear Midori play the Bruch Concerto at the Perth Concert Hall on Friday June 30. It was an extraordinary experience - she played with amazing musical intensity and colour!!

On March 16th 2007 we heard the wonderful young Russian violinist Ilya Gringolts play the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto at the Concert Hall. The depth of expression in his playing was enthralling! His biography is at the following link http://www.iclassics.com/featureArticle?contentId=653

Hiro Kurosaki and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra played at the Concert Hall on September 14th 07. This was the first time we had been to one of their performances. They are a period instrument orchestra, combining great virtuosity and exhuberance. The concert was called Violin Velocity, featuring two concertos by Vivaldi with several instruments sharing solo billing. Kurosaki is a charismatic master of baroque violin and an exciting communicator.
